Burmese militia smoke checks pro junta fighters

This footage shows a People's Defense Force (PDF) known as Thayet Battalion 5 operating near Lezin, in Sinbaungwe Township on 01 January 2025. Two of the anti-junta fighters are shown engaging and shooting members of a Pyusawhti (pro-government) militia and taking their M1 carbines. In a rarity for video of the civil war in Myanmar (Burma), the opposing force is shown as they are being shot. Therefore, viewer discretion is advised.

PDFs low tech minesweeping in Myanmar

This footage shows members of the Chaung U People's Defense Force (PDF) removing mines in Ahnaukywar. The mines were allegedly left by pro-government forces after a recent raid. The term "minesweeping" is literal here as a man uses a broom and knives to expose the charges, which resemble M14 "Toe Popper" mines. While the broom's brush technically isn't likely to exert enough pressure to activate the mines, it's still more of a risk than most people would be prepared to take, given the risk of missing one. Human remains were also found during the sweep, which will necessitate discretion in viewing the footage. They were supposedly civilian remains, but no further information on them was given. The Burmese people are going to be digging up mines and bones for a long, long time.

American journalist steps on landmine in Myanmar

This footage shows the extremely graphic aftermath of American Journalist Colin Mayfield stepping on what was likely an M14 "Toe Popper" mine in Chin State, Myanmar (Burma). True to its name, the explosive appears to have obliterated a sizeable portion of his foot, along with several toes. However, despite the horrific injury and the pain of having a tourniquet applied, Mayfield remains calm- thanks to pure professionalism and, in all likelihood, shock and adrenaline. A consummate journalist, he continues to narrate his experience as he awaits CASEVAC. Having since left Myanmar (Burma), Mayfield faces the challenges of recovering both physically and psychologically. This footage is to be viewed with discretion. The M14 "Toe Popper" is an American invention, and is, objectively speaking, a highly effective tool. It is not easily detected, and almost always wounds rather than killing outright, as it was designed to do. Wounding a person ties up several more in their care and evacuation. However, combatants, journalists, animals, children- landmines punish all who tread on them without distinction, and, as in other wars- including those in Southeast Asia- the price for their use will be paid in Myanmar for years to come.

Junta looter gets comeuppance from on high

While the specific location was not disclosed, this quick clip shows what is purported to be a "Tatmadaw" Junta soldier looting a civilian home. The standing water in the road suggests that the area flooded and he decided to take advantage of the owner's absence. Unfortunately for him, he is spotted by a PDF drone armed with a mortar round. Evidently, consequences and a falling mortar shell both increase in speed by 9.8 meters per second. Viewer discretion is advised.

Drone watches junta troops get smoke checked

This footage represents a comparative rarity among videos of the Myanmar/Burmese Civil War, in that rather than being primarily selfies or close-ups of the PDF doing the shooting, it shows Junta troops being shot and killed. Furthermore, while drone footage is ubiquitous in other conflicts, drone usage for observation purposes is much more infrequently published in Myanmar/Burma. This is allegedly a pair of pro-Government troops who were caught straggling as their main body fell back in Wetlet Township. Having encountered a malfunction with his rifle, a soldier and his partner make the dubious decision to stay right on the path and throw a grenade. Only after being shot does one of them make the smarter decision to roll into the cover and concealment of the paddy, although it probably availed him little at that point. Viewer discretion is advised.

Group photo op dooms troops in Myanmar

This footage shows Junta troops posing for a group photo at the Kyaukphyu Meteorological Radar Station. It's admittedly a pretty cool-looking piece of architecture and makes for great optics. Governmentally-owned progress reaching out of the jungle. Unfortunately for these soldiers, their photo op happens to be in range of the Arakan Army. The anti-junta force manages to nail the group as they pose. It's unclear whether artillery or a drone was used, but when the smoke clears, most of the junta troops are down.

Machine gunner catches stray round

Cell phone footage recorded by Anti-Junta forces in Myanmar captures the moment a machine gunner catches an enemy round with his face. From the footage, it looks like the round ricochets off the receiver of his weapon and impacts him in the side of the head. Fortunately, it appears that he survived the hit. In the second half of the video, his assistant gunner lifts him up, and it looks like the gunner is moving under his own power.

Burmese Anti-Junta militia ambush kills 3

This footage shows members of an anti-junta militia or People's Defense Force (PDF) springing a relatively close-range ambush on a group of five government soldiers. This is reported to have happened near a police checkpoint in Myinmu Township, in the Sagaing region, on 14 August, 2025. Viewer discretion is advised. In a comparative rarity for footage coming out of Burma (Myanmar), this compilation shows both the government forces being ambushed as well as the anti-junta unit doing the ambushing. Of the five soldiers, three were reported killed, and their weapons, which were still operational, were seized.

Sequel cringe ambush is fratricide nightmare

A second cringe-inducing piece of ambush footage from anti-Junta fighters in Burma (Myanmar) shows an attack in which well over a dozen fighters are packed into a truck bed and suddenly and simultaneously open fire on military junta soldiers. The attack is technically successful as multiple enemy targets are killed, but the haphazard manner in which it was carried out is inexcusable. These fighters were a much greater threat to themselves than any enemy combatant was to them, again. I copy and pasted Will's last blog post because the only thing keeping this video from being a repost is the fact that it took place on a different day. Since I copy and pasted his text though, you guys can now tell me that this is a repost down in the comments, and it'll technically be true.

Close contact inside junta stronghold

GoPro, cellphone, and drone footage released by the Dawei National Army shows an attack against a Junta stronghold located in the Tanintharyi region of Myanmar. The footage shows a platoon-sized infantry unit conducting close combat with military forces inside of one of the military's strongholds. At around the :50 second mark, a Junta soldier can be seen attempting to throw a grenade at the recording troops. Unfortunately for the soldier, he just happened to run right into the sightlines of one of the riflemen, getting him killed.

Chin state anti fascists take out troops

Thermal footage released by members of the Anti-Fascists International Front shows a series of sniper attacks against Junta forces in Myanmar. According to the source of this footage, it was all recorded during the recent Battle of Falam, which saw at least 15 different resistance groups coming together to attack Junta positions 68 miles north of the Chin State capital.
