Aftermath of strike against Syrian General Staff
A compilation showing Israeli and Syrian footage of an airstrike against the headquarters of the Syrian General Staff in Damascus. According to Euronews, the Israeli government claimed that the attacks are a response to continue violence against Druze in and around the southern Syrian city of Suwayda. Israeli pilots also struck Syrian military units and allied militia groups near the Druze enclave. Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, demanded that the Syrian government “leave the Druze alone.” Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar reiterated Israel’s commitment to the Druze and to the demilitarization of southern Syria, while Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee sated that Israel would not permit a military threat to exist in the south of the country (Syria).
