Bystander records officer-involved shooting in Nebraska
This quick clip shows the moment a "routine traffic stop" goes bad in Arlington, Nebraska. Reports from the scene suggest that the driver of the SUV to the right of frame was arrested for her traffic violation, whereupon it was discovered that the male passenger had a warrant for his arrest. He was called out of the vehicle in a standard takedown procedure, but things went off the rails when he pulled a handgun from his waistband and opened fire as shown. He managed to take three police cruisers out of service but failed to hit any of the officers. Wounded by the police's return fire, he was flown via helicopter to an Omaha hospital for emergency surgery. It would appear that both the suspect and the nosy neighbor cameraman got a little more than they bargained for out of this incident.
