Explosives shut down Russian attack near Siversk
This footage, coming from the perspective of Ukrainian observation drones, shows a Russian assault near Siversk, in Donetsk Oblast. This incident was published in March of 2025. The Russian troops are shown on foot and using a variety of comparatively fast-moving but poorly armored vehicles, such as UAZs and buggies, ATVs, and on down to motorcycles. However, as they advance, they are targeted and destroyed easily in the flat expanses which feature zero cover or concealment. A variety of mines, drones, and artillery does the dirty work. This wide-open area, known as Ivano-Darivka, has functioned as a primarily Ukrainian-controlled no-man's land for quite some time, as demonstrated here. Ukraine doesn't use troops to hold the area as such, but any attacking force coming across makes itself an easy target.
