Massachusetts cop saves suicide risk from train
This compilation of bodycam and oncoming train footage- yes, you read that correctly- shows an officer from Abington, Massachusetts preventing a woman in severe emotional distress from being killed by a locomotive travelling at speed. Abington Police Department's Sergeant Marquardt is a veteran with over 30 years on the force, and he did not hesitate to protect the woman from her own choices. Even though the woman resisted, he restrained her as the train rolled past. With support from other officers, Marquardt took the woman to a waiting ambulance in order to transport her to mental health assets. As Abington Police Department stated in their praise of Sergeant Marquardt: "Valor is the quiet decision to risk your life so that someone else may keep theirs."
