Nigerian airstrikes smoke terrorists

Nigerian airstrikes target insurgents operating in the country’s north. Nigeria has engineered its air force less around air dominance and has acquired systems suited for supporting ground forces in a counter insurgency role, and the turboprop Super Tucano has formed the backbone of their offensive air fleet. They have substantial need, and in addition to long term problems such as Boko Haram, Nigerian forces are struggling with threats such as JNIM, which operates across the Sahel to Nigeria’s north.
