Russians volley firing thermobarics
Much discourse has been made about the anachronistic juxtapositions of tactics and technology in the Russo-Ukraine war- it is a conflict of trenches and drones, tomorrow's war slammed against yesteryear's. This video further encapsulates this. For all the modernity of RPG-7s with thermobaric warheads, it's hard to get more old school than forming up line abreast to fire them in volley, as these Russians are shown doing in an undisclosed location. The logic here is anyone's guess- is it someone's idea of a budget MLRS? Are they walking fire to clear a minefield? Do they simply not want to carry all that ammo around? Occam's Razor tells us that the simplest answer is often the correct one, and finding ways not to hump ammunition back to base is at least as old as volley fire. War never changes.
