Puerto Rico rescue operation by U.S. Coast Guard
A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Borinquen sprang into action to save lives off the northwest coast of Puerto Rico. The team airlifted two survivors from choppy waters roughly one mile from Shacks Beach in Isabela after their small boat succumbed to harsh conditions in the Mona Passage. The vessel, carrying seven individuals on an irregular migration attempt from the Dominican Republic, had capsized amid towering waves and gusty winds.
