Saudi air strike hits separatist positions in Yemen
More footage coming out of Yemen today shows continued combat action occurring between UAE backed STC forces and the Saudi Air Force. This footage was captured by a member of the STC conducting combat operations near Al-Mukalla in Yemen. For those of you who are out of the loop, the STC is the United Arab Emirates-backed Southern Transitional Council that was established back in May of 2017 during the peak of the on-going war in Yemen. They are a secessionist faction attempting to create the State of South Arabia in Southern Europe. On 2 January 2026, the group published a constitutional declaration for the State of South Arabia.

The crew pushes their vehicle through dense foliage, engaging targets at short range. The M48 was a replacement for the M4 Sherman, the M26 Pershing, and the M46 and M47 Patton tanks, with 12,000 produced between 1952 and 1961. Originally designed with a 90mm main gun, this is likely an M48A5, with the 105mm main gun and the M60 power pack.

This footage shows Saudi Air strikes being delivered in Yemen on the morning of 26 December, 2025. Positions held by the Hadhrami Elite Forces (HEF) in Wadi Nabhan were targeted. HEF is notionally a multinational force formed by the coalition of Arab nations and was formed to combat Al Qaeda, under the supervision and technical support of the United Arab Emirates. At one point, HEF was partly funded by Saudi Arabia, but now that the military unit is being used to support a Yemeni regime change in favor of the UAE-backed Transitional Council, Saudi Arabia is exhibiting a rather violent change of heart.

This footage shows the impact of an M21-OF rocket fired from a Cambodian BM-21 Grad Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). The Grad is the ubiquitous post-Warsaw Pact MLRS, having been sold to and copied by Communist-aligned regimes the world over during the Cold War and after. The rocket hit Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province, Thailand, and nearly killed several pet dogs in the village. This reportedly occurred on 22 December 2025. In full disclosure, while all three dogs in the video appear to have survived the strike, the second one, shown fleeing from the dust and smoke, is probably pretty likely to have suffered some shrapnel injuries. Their behavior suggests that they heard the rocket quite some time before it arrived, but curiosity got the better of the pups and kept them in the area.

In the background, a VT-4 Main Battle Tank is shown with a damaged barrel. Another Thai-owned VT-4 experienced a catastrophic failure of its barrel during an assault in December 2025. While that one reportedly shattered, and this one does not appear to be as damaged, that they failed in similar conditions does not bode well for the Chinese-made MBT. For their part, the 1960s American-made M113 APCs keep on tickin', despite an appearance that seems fitting in an older war.

The house of the former head of the Cambodian-Thai border coordination office has been destroyed by the Royal Thai Army after it was suspected of being used as a drone launching point for Cambodian forces. The residence was located right next to the Thomoda Casino, which is suspected of being used as a command and control post for the Cambodian forces in that area. Thai forces have repeatedly used F-16 and Gripen fighter jets in conjunction with their own drone forces to target these structures and deny the Cambodian forces access to the locations, even though the Cambodian government has denied claims that they're using these structures as military outposts.

Cell phone footage recorded by Filipino fishermen working the Escoda Shoal on December 12, 2025, shows a series of targeted attacks against Filipino flagged fishing boats by members of the Chinese Coast Guard and Chinese Maritime Militia. Throughout the attack, the CCG and MMS used high-pressure water cannons to force the fishing boats away from the shoal, causing significant damage to at least two of the vessels, and causing injury to at least three of the fishermen. The Philippine Coast Guard responded by deploying two patrol vessels to assist the fishermen with medical aid, and additional fuel. The PCG ships faced multiple attempts at interdiction by the CCG vessels while they were en route to assist the fishermen. PCG spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, condemned the actions as "dangerous," "inhumane," and an escalation targeting civilians, rejecting Chinese claims that the fishermen brandished knives and threatened the Chinese vessels and Coast Guard personnel.

Between the ongoing Cambodia-Thailand fight, as well as the Myanmar/Burma conflict, there is some kind of Southeast Asia cultural trait where the participants in the combat footage would rather record themselves in a selfie video than document the actual battles occurring around them. It's likely some sort of narcissism associated with the TikTok generation in which they perceive themselves as the main character. The problem with that is when you look like a complete fucking idiot, such as the soldiers in this video. The soldier nearest to the camera dances around unnecessarily as he fires his weapon. The butt stock is extended, but he doesn't shoulder the rifle. In fact, he doesn't even aim his rifle, he just holds it out in front of him like some average Joe off the street that's never held a weapon in his life. In addition to that he unnecessarily crosses the open threshold exposing himself to enemy fire... but let's be real here. There is likely no enemy fire, these clowns are just putting on a show for social media and using the ongoing conflict to boost their viewership, which again, perceives them as useless oxygen thieves rather than effective fighting men. Although this conflict between two warring nations has been highly publicized, the actual execution of it has been anything but effective by either side. We are now nearing a week in and the kill count for all sides combined, including civilians, is estimated to be 15-25. So what exactly are they doing out there? Oh yeah, dancing around like morons.

This footage was released on 10 December 2025, amid the ongoing border clashes between the two nations. The M40 is shown mounted on a Jeep chassis, allowing the crew to relocate between shots as necessary. Note that because the weapon is mounted on a military vehicle, it does not meet the definition of "technical" as typified in other conflicts. The whole firing procedure for the M40 is showcased here, including the use of a range-finding rifle round before discharging the main gun. The gunners appear to be having a good time with this mission, if the thumbs-up is to be believed. As was showcased in the last fracas between Cambodia and Thailand, Thailand continues to evidently have the military upper hand.
