Florida K9 officer snatches up burglar

This quick excerpt of security and bodycam footage, provided by Sanford, Florida's Police Department, shows a suspect stealing a vehicle whose owner reported held a handgun in the glovebox. Whether the suspect knew that or not, the police had to consider the weapon as a potential threat. Enter Sanford Police K9 Athos. When a suspect is armed or otherwise combative, a K9 can use its superior speed and a human's instinctive fear to disrupt the suspect's OODA loop and take them down before they can act. Athos nails his role, and the suspect is arrested without further violence. Good boy!

French police ambushed with shotguns

Yesterday, French police officers in the town of Castres, as small town in southern France, east of Toulouse, were attacked by masked men wielding hunting shotguns and other civilian firearms. Members of the police anti-crime unit were called to an area of the city known for criminal activity, and on arriving were attacked by “hooded youths,” giving the incident the appearance of an ambush. Two officers were injured. The head of the department decried the rising violence in this city of 40,000 people, claiming that his force is not up to the task, and requested assistance from CRS-8, a unit of the National Police created in 2021 to deal with high intensity urban threats related to drug trafficking, organized crime, and riots.

FTO and rookie get into gunfight

This footage comes from the Police Department in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It shows two police officers- a rookie and his Field Training Officer (FTO)- attempting to make contact with a person considered to be a known threat. The suspect sprints away, opening fire with a handgun and prompting an exchange of gunfire between himself and the officers. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it shows that while learning the finer points of policing on the job is necessary, it can also be incredibly dangerous.

Florida teen learns about self-fulfilling prophecies

This compilation of 911 audio, aerial unit and bodycam footage shows an incident from Halloween, 2025 in St. Augustine, Florida. Amid a large disturbance caused by local teens, witnesses reported hearing a firearm discharged. The aerial unit located a suspect vehicle and talked ground units of St. Johns Sheriff's Office onto the white truck's location, whereupon a 17 year old male- ironically dressed as a convict- tried to flee. Upon his apprehension, a .45 caliber pistol was found on his person. While his identity was withheld due to his age, St. Johns County revealed that he was charged with Resisting Without Violence and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor.

Gravity hands suspect over to SWAT team

This short but humorous clip shows a barricaded suspect whose standoff in Sebastian, Florida abruptly ends when he falls through the ceiling- right between two SWAT officers. Keith Rodgers, 37 years of age, was suspected of having stolen a pickup truck. When the truck was located at his home, he fled to the attic and barricaded himself, refusing to obey commands. And... well, you can see how that turned out.

Good Samaritan foils shoplifting Floridian

This bodycam footage comes with a special shout-out to Slidell, Louisiana, as it happens. Here, we see a shoplifter and her getaway driver (the thief being from Navarre, Florida, which I'm much less happy to also claim) attempting to elude a Slidell officer. However, their escape is undone when a passing Good Samaritan gives the officer a lift and chases them down.

Armed suspect steals and crashes occupied ambulance

This footage shows police in Novi, Michigan, responding to a motor vehicle collision. However, the completely unexpected occurs when one of the people involved in the wreck steals the ambulance which responded to the scene- despite a paramedic and patient still being inside. After a high-speed chase that blew an intersection and a tire, the ambulance is slammed into a GMC Yukon and catches fire. Despite this, all involved persons survived with non-threatening injuries.

Seattle cops rescue immolated man

This short clip of dashcam footage shows patrol officers from Seattle, Washington, as they respond to reports of a man on fire. While there have been incidents in the last few years of persons self-immolating as a form of protest, this person appears to have been lit ablaze by an uncontrolled fire by which they'd fallen asleep.

This bodycam footage shows both a recent event and a troubling glimpse at the future as a Baltimore teen gets detained and searched. On 20 October, 2025, an AI-powered security system somehow mistook his blue bag of Doritos corn chips for a handgun, at which time the police responded and detained the minor.

Bodycam records Florida man trying to steal it

This dashcam and bodycam footage, compiled and presented by the Marion County Sheriff's Office in Florida, shows a suspect being tased as he resists arrest, having attempted to flee on a stolen motorcycle. While this is unremarkable for Florida- right down to the methamphetamine in the suspect's pocket- during the action, an officer's bodycam is knocked loose. As bystanders heckle and harass the officers for doing their job, one of them picks up the bodycam and attempts to abscond with it. He is caught, drops it, and denies it as he is being arrested, despite the camera he picked up being on and recording. This kind of brazen recalcitrance is almost humorous from the outside, but from an officer's perspective, this kind of add-on frustration to an already difficult arrest must be maddening.

Suspect believes police horse can smell narcotics

This bodycam footage comes from Lubbock, Texas, and shows what possibly may be either the most gullible or most paranoid drug suspect in the Lone Star State. Two Lubbock police officers on horseback made contact with two people standing on the roadside. The officers asked to check whether they had drugs on their persons, and the subjects initially declined, as is their right. However, one of the officers made an off-hand joke that the horse can smell the drugs anyway. Admittedly, the line blurs between an attempt at levity and a low-cost, high-reward deception. Lubbock PD has not officially stated whether their horses can detect narcotics (I'm leaning toward no) but one of the subjects took the cop at his word and duly booked it. After a short chase, he was taken into custody with charges pending.

Tampa woman drives into oncoming traffic, blames imaginary husband

This quick compilation of dashcam and bodycam footage comes from Tampa, Florida, where a woman was found driving the wrong way on Interstate 4 on September 13, 2025. This constitutes a very serious threat to both the driver and the oncoming motorists. It can be an indication of suicidal or intentionally homicidal intent. With these things in mind, Florida Highway Patrol was forced to act quickly, stopping the car with a PIT maneuver. However, the suspect- later identified as Kristian Beall, 24 years of age, was neither suicidal or seeking to harm others- she was simply incredibly intoxicated. As an excuse for her behavior, she attempted frame her husband as the driver, throwing the poor guy under the bus despite the fact that he very obviously wasn't there.

Kentucky man wins lottery, gets in fight, rides lightning

This short bodycam clip out of Pinellas County, Florida, shows a recent Powerball winner who, upon encountering someone who doubted his $167.3 million win, chose to fight him. When the Pinellas Co. Sheriff's Office got involved, the man opted to test his luck again and kicked a Deputy in the face. Unfortunately for our winner, while millions of dollars can often insulate you from many poor decisions, neither assaulting a police officer, nor the resulting TASER deployment are on that list.

This bodycam and dashcam footage shows a Sheriff's Office Sergeant in Missouri as he manages to rescue a heart attack victim, despite the patient being behind the wheel of a vehicle in motion. For perspective, the American Red Cross maintains that the Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) CPR success rate is between 8 and 10 percent, but you never tell a hero the odds.

Protestor on roof catches rubber bullet with chin

Footage from multiple civilian perspectives in Los Angeles, California, during the 2025 immigration riots captures the moment a protester is knocked unconscious after being struck in the face by a less-lethal round. Law enforcement allegedly faced large rocks and bricks thrown by protesters from a rooftop, prompting the less-lethal response to prevent injuries or fatalities among officers on the ground.
