Congolese troops display captured weapons
Footage from January of this year showing a contingent of the army of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) advancing on positions held by the M23 rebel group. The unit shown includes infantry, a technical vehicle with a 14.5 mm heavy machine gun, and a nearly seventy-year-old T-55 main battle tank. The latter is a Soviet relic which is still finding employment in conflicts across the globe, particularly in developing regions, and in Russian formations in Ukraine.
