Syrian soldiers interdict SDF fighters on the run

This footage shows Syrian military troops chasing down and detaining militants from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a Kurdish-led, US-backed coalition of militias which opposes Islamic State factions in armed conflict. A major push by government forces resulted in an SDF rout throughout Syria on 18 January, 2026. Here, we see an SDF group being tracked, followed and interdicted in the desert, specific location not disclosed. Pro-Syrian sources claim that this particular element had intended to ambush government forces but were discovered. However, this video alone is not enough to provide such a motive.
