FPV drones in Somalia

Kamikaze drones, which have shaped the nature of warfare in Ukraine, are becoming more common in African conflicts. Puntland is a semi-autonomous region in northeastern Somalia which is drifting further from the orbit of the federal government in Mogadishu. While the Somali government has struggled in its efforts to combat Islamic militants, Puntland is finding a degree of success, due in some part to support from the UAE and the United States. While this has improved security conditions in the region, Puntland’s current course of action may lead to dissolution of the Somali state in its current form.
